Anyone Can Be Criminalized If In Opposition: Munarman

JAKARTA (Jurnalislam.com) – Senior lawyer Munarman said the Indonesian people in the current regime are generally very likely to be criminalized as opponants against the authorities. That, he explained, is due to the nature of power and such a power will not like the parties who criticize or opposes them.

“We are just waiting for the right moment,” he said in a discussion themed ‘Ranu and Threat of Criminalization to Journalist’ at Sofyan Inn Hotel, Tebet, Jakarta, Sunday (21/05/2017).

He explained, according to Gramsci’s theory, in an attempt to subdue an opponent in two ways, namely domination and hegemony.

Domination, Munarman explained, is using power-ridden tools. Namely with formal power (law) or authoritarianism.
